Living in the Light: A Guide to Personal and Planetary Transformation

In Living in the Light, Shakti Gawain introduced a powerful new way of life: that of listening to one's own intuition and relying on it as a guiding force. In the newly revised edition of that classic work, she elaborates on her original ideas, adding aspects of her own experiences and learning process over the past twelve years. In addition to balancing feminine and masculine energies, she now examines several other fundamental polarities we all have, such as power and vulnerability. Everyone's life journey involves developing the full range of self and acknowledging all aspects of one's personality -- including both light facets and dark.

Hello!

Living in the light: A Guide to Personal and Planetary Transformation - By Shakti Gawain is a book that highlights how strong our intitutions are and how can we make them our guiding force in life. It shows the author’s spiritual growth and talks about creative visualization, power of meditation and how to Bring awareness to every part of ourselves. You can acquire some great insightful wisdom from this book. However, I did feel that it became monotonous after some time and it didn’t encapture me consistently so I would rate it a 6/10.

Some of the take-aways from this book are-

Creative visualization is relaxing deeply and then picturing a desired goal in your mind exactly the way you want it to be.

Every time you don’t follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual sadness.

Let us imagine that life is a river. Most people are clinging to the bank, afraid to let go and risk being carried along by the current of the river.

Our bodies communicate to us clearly and specifically, if we are willing to listen.

The more light you allow within you, the brighter the world you live in will be.

The truth about this earth is that it is an infinitely good, beautiful, nourishing place to be. The only “evil” comes from a lack of understanding of this truth.

we need to be willing to let our intuition guide us, and then be willing to follow that guidance directly and fearlessly.
